



SPRINGFIELD, Mass., October 15, 2005 - Springfield College senior back Meghan Bascetta (Granby, Conn.) recorded one goal and one assist to lead the No. 9 Pride to a 4-1 victory over Clark University in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game Saturday afternoon at Benedum Field.
SC jumped on the board first as senior Erin Bosch (Shoreham, N.Y.) scored off a feed from Bascetta. Bascetta then scored her fifth goal of the season off an assist from junior midfielder Janna Prachniak (Lincoln, R.I.) at the 16:56 mark to give the Pride an early 2-0 lead.
Cougar senior forward Meredith Courtemance scored the lone Clark goal with 13:18 left in the first to cut the SC lead in half going into the break (2-1).
Sophomore forward Brittany Veazie (Dexter, Maine) added an insurance goal for the Pride with 10:24 left in the contest. Five minutes later, Bosch tallied her second goal of the game to make the final score 4-1.
SC continues to roll as the Pride now boast a 13-2 overall record and 4-1 mark in the NEWMAC. SC returns to the field tomorrow morning (Oct. 16) as it travels to Schoellkopf Field on the campus of Cornell University to take on Ithaca College in a non-conference contest at 9:00 a.m.
