SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - April 2, 2008 - The Springfield College number three doubles team of Bobby Schlink and Tim Tunis has been recognized as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Doubles Team of the Week after an impressive week.The duo went 2-0 on the week as the Pride clinched the second seed in the upcoming NEWMAC Tournament.
In the Pride's loss to Tufts, Schlink and Tunis won one of Springfield's two points in the match, as the duo won 9-7. In a key conference win over Babson, Schlink and Tunis won by a 9-8 count.
Toby Coffin G’01, enters his third year as the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College. Coffin, who has coached at numerous high schools in the area, will look to build a program which will contend for a conference crown.
