Women's Track & Field Competes at Trinity Invitational
HARTFORD, Conn., April 3, 2004 - Springfield College junior
Leah Sullivan (Northboro, Mass.) captured a second place finish in the discus (115-10) and a third place finish in the shot put (38-1/2) at the annual Trinity Invitational Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Meet this afternoon at Jessee/Miller Field. There was no team scoring.
In other field events, sophomore
Cristina Davis (Orange, Conn.) placed second in the javelin (129-11) and senior
Leyla Williams (Unionville, N.Y.) was third in the hammer (138-05).
On the track, sophomore
Yasmin Goris (Worcester, Mass.) placed fouth in the 100-meter dash (13.15). Senior
Alisha Miner (Sanbornton, N.H.) finished fourth in the 200-meter dash (27.49) and fifth in the 400 meters (1:01.77).
The SC 4x100-meter relay team, that included Miner, freshman
Courtney Birtwell (East Longmeadow, Mass.), senior
Jamie Bafaro (Mechanicsville, N.Y.), and sophomore
Melissa Pannell (Valley Stream, N.Y.) finished fifth (52.36)

Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
