Men's Track and Field Performs Well at Harvard Open

Orlando Harvey Complete Results

Cambridge, Mass. - December 8, 2012 - Going up against some of the top competition in the region, the Springfield College men's track and field team competed in the Harvard Open, a non-scoring meet, on Saturday.

John Dayton continued his great start to the season as he recorded a distance of 57-09 in the weight throw to finish third. In the shot put, Orlando Harvey placed fifth with a heave of 48-02.75. In the jumping events, Tim Johansmeyer took 13th in the triple jump (41-08.00) and 17th in the long jump (20-01.75). Additionally, Sam Baker reached a height of 6-00.75 in the high jump.

Anthony Salvucci crossed the finish line fourth in the 3,000 in 8:38.25, while teammate Erich Voelker ran a 9:01.99 to place 10th in the same event.

In the mile run, Ryan O'Connell posted a time of 4:30.57, while in the 800 meters Matt Scully (2:01.06) and Nate Pinciak (2:02.19) each placed in the top 15.

Also having strong showings included Sean Nunan's time of 1:08.58 in the 500 meters and Walker Smith's split of 52.29 in the 200.
