Men's Soccer Loses to Brandeis, 4-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., October 22, 2002- Springfield College junior midfielder Mike Gruber (Kingston, N.Y.) scored in the 47th minute of play off a feed from Justin Pepoli (Ashburnham, Mass.), but the Pride lost to Brandeis University on Tuesday, 4-1.

The Pride's goaltending team of Tom Bowden (Havertown, Pa.) and Steve Pagie (East Longmeadow, Mass.) combined for three saves, but the Judges broke a 1-1 tie, scoring three times in the second half to improve their record to 9-6-1 on the season.

Brandeis' Brian Bisceglia-Kane (Worcester, Mass.) scored in the 75th minute off an assist from Oren Nhaissi (Old Westbury, N.Y.) to give the Judges the lead for good.

Springfield College falls to 5-10-1. The Pride returns to NEWMAC action on Saturday, October 26 at Babson College in a 12:00 p.m. game.
