Springfield, Mass. -- February 17, 2012 -- Chris Fogler of Williams College has taken the first-day lead of the heptathlon competition within the 2012 New England Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships taking place at Springfield College's Field House. The heptathlon will resume tomorrow at 9 am.
Fogler, a junior, has completed the first four events with a leading point-total of 2,551. The four events include the 60, the long jump, the shot put, and the high jump. The three events that will be concluded tomorrow will be the 60 high hurdles, the pole vault, and the 1000.
Nine others completed Day 1. They included sophomore Andrew Osborne of Tufts with 2530 points, freshman Eric Wainman of Bates (2404), junior David Hardison of Bates (2402), freshman Jason Sliwoski of Worcester State (2352), senior Mike Thyden of WPI (2305), sophomore Aaron Paiton of Southern Maine (2235), sophomore Clay Kosack of Coast Guard (2234), and freshman Allan Yau of Tufts (2020).
