



Babson Park, Mass. - October 24, 2011 - For the second time this season, Kelly Gallo was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Field Hockey Player of the Week after leading Springfield to a pair of key league wins last week.The Westfield, Mass. native played an instrumental role as Springfield continued to make its push to qualify for the NEWMAC Championship.
Gallo found the back of the cage just 1:25 into the contest in Springfield's 4-2 win over Clark on Tuesday before scoring 10 minutes into the second half in Springfield's critical 1-0 win over Babson.
She leads the team with eight goals and four assists this season.
After nine years as head coach of the Pride, Melissa Sharpe has continued the tradition of winning on the field hockey turf, posting an impressive 130-68 record, good for a winning percentage of .656 at the helm of her alma mater. Read more.
