



Complete ResultsPhiladelphia, Pa. - February 13, 2010 - The Springfield College men's gymnastics team fell on the road at Temple University, 333.350-326.000, on Saturday evening despite an incredible individual performance by Ty Evans. The sophomore took first in the parallel bars, high bar, and all-around competition to lead Springfield in the meet.
Evans had a standout meet as he was claimed the all-around title with a score of 84.00, while teammate Josh Fox took second with a score of 79.500. Evans had the top score on the parallel bars with a 14.100 he then tied for first on the high bar after recording a score of 14.200. He also finished second on the floor with a 14.400 and placed third in the vault after scoring a 15.200.
Other top performers in the meet included Jimmy Pezzino, who tied for third on the floor (14.100) and Matt Tocchio, who placed fourth on the pommel horse (12.800). Josh Spencer also finished fourth on the still rings (13.550).
Springfield will now prepare for its next competition, the 2010 New England Championships, which will take place on Sunday, February 21 in Blake Arena.
Entering his 32nd season as head men's gymnastics coach, Dr. Steve Posner is recognized as one of the most outstanding gymnastics coaches in the East. Posner led the Pride to another successful season in 2013 as he led five gymnasts to the NCAA Championships. Read more.
