Men's Volleyball To Kick Off 2011 Campaign in California

Springfield College Men's Volleyball Springfield, Mass. - January 13, 2011 - The Springfield College men's volleyball team will open up its 2011 season on Friday afternoon as it travels to California for four matches over a two-day period. Due to a major snow storm this week, the Pride's schedule on the west coast has been modified.

Springfield will open the year on Friday, January 14th at 12:00 pm when it takes on California Baptist. Later that evening, Springfield will travel to square off against Hope International University at 7:00 pm.

On Saturday, the Pride and California Baptist with battle once again, this time at 1:00 pm. Springfield is also slated to take on Pierce College at 7:00 pm on Saturday night.

Springfield is coming off its sixth Molten Division III National Championship and returns a pair of All-American middle blockers in senior Cal Palumbo and sophomore Greg Falcone. In his 13th season on the sidelines for the Pride, Charlie Sullivan enters this season after being named the AVCA Division III Men's National Coach of the Year last season.
