



Complete ResultsBoston, Mass. - October 9, 2010 - The Springfield College men's cross country team competed in the 2010 Open New England Championships on Saturday afternoon in Franklin Park. As a team, the Pride finished 29th out of 47 teams as it totaled 707 points on the day.
Sophomore Ryan O'Connell was the top finisher for Springfield as he crosse the finish line in 75th overall with a time of 25:57 on the 8K course.
Dartmouth College won the event with 138 points, clipping second place finisher Boston University (140 points) by two. Central Connecticut (186), UMass-Lowell (191), and Northeastern (195) rounded out the top five.
Springfield saw a second top-100 finisher in Zach Pietras, who completed the course in 26:12. Others that ran well for the Pride were Anthony Salvucci in 26:17, Steve Creamer in 27:05, and Matthew Scully in 27:21.
The Pride head to Albany, NY next Saturday for the University of Albany Invitational.
Bryan Brown will enter his second season as the head men's cross country coach in the fall of 2012. Brown, who was a former All-American at Springfield College in track, led Springfield to a second-place finish at the NEWMAC Championships a year ago .
