



Springfield, Mass. -- March 14, 2010 -- The U.S. Air Force Academy men's gymnastics team used an extraordinary score on vault to leap over both William & Mary and host Springfield College on the final event this afternoon in a tri-meet at SC's Blake Arena. Air Force used a 62.350 in vault to score a total of 342.950 points to William & Mary's 337.800 and Springfield's 336.650. For the Pride, the score was a high for the season.Entering the final apparatus, Springfield was in first place by about a point over both Air Force and William & Mary. But Air Force scored 62.350 points in the vault, while William & Mary tallied a 57.150 on parallel bars, and Springfield a 54.700 on high bar.
Nash Mills (Coto De Caza, Calif.), a junior from Air Force, was the top All-Arounder with a score of 86.300. In second was Spingfield's Ty Evans, a sophomore from San Jose, Calif., who scored an 84.250. In third was senior Derek Gygax (Stevensville, Md.) of William & Mary with an 84.000.
