



November 3, 2009 - Junior halfback Joe Myhren was honored for his tremendous performance in the football team's win over Ithaca on Saturday as he was selected to D3football.com's Team of the Week presented by Scoutware. Myhren ran for a career-best 170 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries, averaging 8.9 yards per carry in a 47-26 win against conference-rival Ithaca. After an opening kickoff return by Jarred Burrell to the Ithaca 40, Myhren ran 15 yards and then 25 yards for the game's first TD just 30 seconds into the contest.
Myhren was also selected as the Empire 8 Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts.

Michael C. “Mike” DeLong ’74 enters his 31st season as a head football coach in the fall of 2012. He enters his 29th year at Springfield College alone. For the past 28 years, he has been the head coach at Springfield, his alma mater. Mike had also been the head coach at Maine Maritime in Castine, Maine in 1979 and 1980. Read more.
