Women's Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision at MIT
, Oct. 23, 2004 - Springfield College junior goalkeeper Christina Davis (Newington, Conn.)
stopped seven shots, but it was MIT who edged the Pride in a 1-0 victory in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match at MIT.
The only goal of the match was scored in the 9th minute by freshman Amy Ludlum off of a feed from senior Lydia Helliwell. Goalkeeper Katherine Vater saved thirteen shots for the Engineers.
The loss ends a three-match unbeaten streak for the Pride.
SC travels to WPI on Tuesday, Oct. 26 for its regular season finale at 7:00 p.m.
Head Coach John Gibson
John Gibson, a native of London, England, enters his 14th season as head women's soccer at Springfield College in the fall of 2013. Gibson has led the Pride to the NCAA Tournament in six of the last eight years and has established the Pride as one of the top programs in the country. His clubs have registered an impressive a 165-75-21 record.
