Men's Soccer Falls At Coast Guard, 1-0

NEW LONDON, Conn., October 29, 2005 -- Springfield College goalkeepers B.J. Sturdivant (Bear, Del.) and Ryan Driscoll (Wilmington, Del.) each tallied two saves, but it was not enough as the Pride fell to the Coast Guard Academy, 1-0, this afternoon (Oct. 29) in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's soccer action in New London.

In the regular season finale for both teams, the Bears ended the Pride's (4-11-1, 1-4-1) three-game winning streak. Coast Guard (6-9-1, 2-4) scored the lone goal of the match in the 28th minute of play on Casey Steur's goal which was assisted by Kevin Trujillo. The Bears outshot the Pride 13-11 for its second-straight win.

SC will next be at Clark University on Wednesday evening, November 2, in the first round of the 2005 NEWMAC Men's Soccer Tournament, in a 6:00 p.m. start.
