Kellie Pennington Indianapolis, Ind. - March 24, 2012 - The Springfield College women's swimming and diving team wrapped up an extremely successful trip to the NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday as it finished 12th overall in the competition. Sophomore Kellie Pennington highlighted the Pride's success as she finished second in the 100 freestyle to earn her third individual All-America honor.

In the 100 free, Pennington had entered the event as the only swimmer to break the 50-second barrier heading into the Championships. After qualifying with a 49.94, the Monson, Mass. product swam the second-fastest time of the prelims, a 50.40. In the championship final, Pennington clocked in at 50.33 to finish as the national runner-up. Christie Raleigh from Rowan won the national title in a final time of 49.94. It was Pennington who edged Raleigh for the national crown in the 50 free earlier in the week.

In the 400 free relay, seniors Caroline Kosciusko, Jaclyn Van Waalwijk, and Kaitlin Reilly joined Pennington in swimming to a 13th place finish in the consolation finals to earn All-America honors. The team combined for a time of 3:29.87.

Divers Jennifer Thompson and Courtney Keefe also competed in the 3-meter diving competition and both took home All-America honors once again. The duo were the top two divers in the consolation final as Thompson took ninth with a 426.15, while Keefe finished right behind her in 10th after scoring 421.75.
