Murphy Named NEWMAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week
Boston, Mass. - March 10, 2014 -
After a five-point performance against cross-town rival Western New England University this past Saturday, senior attackman Ryan Murphy (Mansfield, Mass.)
has been tabbed as this week's New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Offensive Player of the Week.
Murphy has had a sensational start to his senior year, leading the Pride to its best start since the 1995 season. In four games, the senior attackman has netted 10 goals to go along with four assists. In the season opener, Murphy posted three goals and two assists at Gordon, before finding the back of the cage once in an upset win over Nazareth.
In the Pride's third contest at Stevens Tech, the Sport Management major delivered two goals and an assist before erupting for five points including four goals and an assist in the come-from-behind victory over Western New England.
The Pride will be back in action this Wednesday when they will host the Middlebury Panthers on Stagg Field. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m.
