



Complete ResultsDartmouth, Mass. - September 19, 2009 - The Springfield College women's cross country team finished in ninth place out of 42 teams on Saturday afternoon at the UMass Dartmouth Shriners Invitational. Amanda DiPaolo finished third overall out of 301 runners as she completed the race in 18:03.
Springfield finished with 216 points as a team.
Lacey Cartier was the second fastest runner for Springfield on the day as she finished the 5k course in 23rd place in 19:05. The duo of Caitlyn Crosby and Alex Mustardo then crossed in 19:45 for 60th and 61st place, respectively. Finishing in 72nd was Michelle Mirti who ran a time of 19:57, while Molly Powell finished in 122nd in 20:45.
Rounding out the Pride's performers for the day was Sissell Holloway who ran a time of 21:11.
Next Saturday, Springfield will compete in the Purple Valley Classic in Williamstown, Mass.
Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
