Women's Cross Country Finishes 21st at NCAA New England Championship

Gorham, Maine - November 16, 2013 - The Springfield College women’s cross-country team competed in the Division III NCAA Regional Championships at the University of Southern Maine on Saturday afternoon. Out of 53 teams that competed, the Pride took 21st place as a team, scoring 653 points.

Senior Gabby Gaudreault (Leominster, Mass.) was the top finisher for the Pride, posting a time of 22:47.28 and placing 60th overall on the day.

Not too far behind Gaudreault was sophomores Samantha Pomroy (Lebanon, Maine), posting a time of 24:14.93, finishing 136th and Abby Wright (Pittsfield, Mass.), finishing with a time of 24: 21.50 and 147th overall.

Juniors Sarah Knop (Eastham, Mass.) and J’aime Giaccone (Enfield, Conn.) finished fourth and fifth on the Pride respectively, with Knop finishing 154th overall with a time of 24:26.43 and Giaccone finishing 159th overall with a time of 24:30.52.
