Springfield, Mass. - October 7, 2008 - Springfield senior Greg Levings, was honored as the New England Collegiate Conference Golfer of the Week for the second time in 2008, the conference office announced today.The Averill Park, N.Y. native finished first amongst NECC duffers at the Blazers Invitational. He tied for second at the Elms Blazers event he tied for 2nd with a 76 helping his team to the top NECC team at 3rd with a 312 score.
He returned this weekend at the ECAC DIII Championships placing 11th, only ten strokes behind the medalist. Levings shot 75 in both rounds for a 150 and helped the Pride to an 8th place finish out of 17 teams.
Joe Eadie enters his 20th season as the head men's golf coach at Springfield College in the fall of 2012. Eadie is the head golf professional at the Fenway Golf Range in nearby East Longmeadow, and is in the process of becoming a PGA Professional. He also lead the Pride to their first NCAA Division III Championship in program history. Read more.
