



Springfield, Mass. -- February 15, 2010 -- The Springfield College wrestling team is ranked third in the final New England Wrestling Association Division III poll, released earlier today.The team owns a final dual-meet record of 10-6 as they approach this weekend's NEWA Individual Championships at nearby Western New England College.Daryl Arroyo's troops received 85 points in the final poll. Finishing first was Williams College with all 11 first-place votes for a total of 110 points. In second was Johnson & Wales with 99, followed by Springfield (85), Wesleyan (80), Rhode Island College (62), Roger Williams (53), Plymouth State (47), Southern Maine (32), Trinity (20), and Bridgewater State (18).
This Saturday and Sunday, the NEWA Individual Championships will take place at Western New England College. Saturday's competition will begin at 10:30 am, while Sunday's activities will start at 9:30 am.

Jason Holder will enter his second season as head wrestling coach in 2012. Holder had a standout first season at the helm of the Pride, leading Springfield to the NEWA Duals Championship and taking three wrestlers to the NCAA Championships.
