A junior from Watertown, Conn., Blake had a spectacular week, helping SC to a 6-2 overall record and a 4-0 mark in the NEWMAC, keeping SC atop the league standings. An occupational therapy/rehab and disability studies major, Kelly batted .708 (17-for-24) from the plate, and had 12 RBI and 10 runs scored. Her slugging percentage was a fantastic 1.333 thanks to seven doubles, two home runs, and one triple. Her on-base percentage was .741.
A sophomore pitcher from Harrison, N.Y., Marino also made her mark on the week, pitching a no-hitter in a 7-0 victory over MCLA. It was her second no-hitter in a 17-day period. She also a a 4-0 no-hit win over Clark earlier in the season. In four appearances on the week in which she went 3-1, Ashley had an ERA of 0.95. In 22 innings pitched, the physical education major struck out 23 and gave up just three earned runs on 10 hits. In the no-hitter versus MCLA, she struck out 11, including seven of the first 11 batters she faced.
