



Complete ResultsMedford, Mass. - May 1, 2010 - Nikki Hay won the 100 meter, long jump, triple jump, and anchored the winning 4x100 meter relay team, as she helped total 40 points for the Springfield College women’s track and field team that finished in third place at the 2010 New England Division III Championships hosted by Tufts University.
Williams took first with a total of 157 points and MIT followed with 120.5 points. Springfield's 68 points was good enough for third place.
Hay was dominating as she won the 100 in a time of 12.08 , and recorded a leap of 5.93 meters (19-05.50) to win the long jump. She also was victorious in the triple jump after registering a mark of 11.93 meters (39-01.75). She joined teammates Laurie Jenkins, Crystal Davis, and Erika Marks for a 47.98 finish in the 4x100 meter relay.
Marks also place third in the 100 with a 12.49 and fifth in the 200 with a 25.25. Teammates Katie Schumann, Joy Jennifer, Lacey Cartier, and Kelly Murphy took fourth place in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:03.75.
Fatima Rose had an outstanding day in the field as she was able to score points for the Pride in three events. Rose's highest finish was in the shot put, as she took third after throwing a distance of 12.20m (40-00.50). She also finished sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 41.89m (137-05)and sixth in the the discus throw with a distance of 38.47m (126-02). Colleen Brague placed eighth in the javelin throw with a distance of 36.05m (118-03).
As a result, each of these student athletes who placed in the top eight earns All-New England Division III honors.
Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2012-2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
