Pepoli Selected As NEWMAC Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Oct. 4, 2004 - Springfield College junior midfielder Justin Pepoli was selected as the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Player of the Week in men’s soccer, announced today.

Pepoli, a native of Ashburnham, Mass., scored three goals in a 1-1 week for the Pride. At Amherst Sept. 29, he tied the match in the 61st minute with his third goal of the season, but SC eventually fell to the undefeated Jeffs. In a 3-2 victory over Clark on Saturday, he netted his first goal just :38 into the match. Pepoli delivered his team-leading fifth goal of the season eight minutes into the first overtime to give the Pride its first NEWMAC win on the season.

Pepoli is the team leader in points with 12 while his five goals ranks fourth in the conference.

SC (4-6, 1-2 NEWMAC) hosts Bridgewater State on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 4:00 p.m.
