SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – April 15, 2003 – Despite a goal and two assists by Springfield College senior captain Lindsay Reiniger (Rochester, N.Y.), the Pride fell to No. 2 Amherst College, 20-9, this evening on Benedum Field.

Springfield went on a 3-1 run to tie the game, 4-4, with 14:32 remaining in the half, before five unanswered Amherst goals, including a pair by junior midfielder Jackie Sargent (Concord, Mass.), put Amherst ahead, 10-5, at halftime.

Springfield freshman forward Holly Carmody (Wayland, Mass.) scored :20 second into the second half to cut the Pride deficit to 10-6, but a 9-1 Amherst run over the next 17:43 put the game out of reach for SC (6-4).
