Coyle Selected the NEWMAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Kevin Coyle Babson Park, Mass. -- April 16, 2012 -- Kevin Coyle of the Springfield College men's track & field team has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference men's field athlete of the week for the week ending April 15.

A native of Bradford, N.H., the sport management major participated in four events this past Saturday in the SC-WPI-Coast Guard tri-meet in New London. The Pride scored 161 points to WPI's 134 to CGA's 105.

As usual, Coyle won his two specialties, the long jump and the triple jump. In the long jump, he finished first with a leap of 23-7 1/2. In the triple jump, he then finished first with a leap of 43-7 3/4.

Coyle also tried his hand in the 4x400-meter relay, anchoring a quartet that finished third with a time of 3:35.92.

And he also placed seventh in the discus with a toss of 118-10.
