Men's Track and Field Competes In Day One of ECAC Championships

Nickel Hay Day One Results

Medford, Mass. - March 6, 2009 - The Springfield College men's track and field team opened up the 2009 ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday at Tufts University.

The Pride is tied for 23rd place after the first day of competition as it totaled five points. RIT is in first place with 26 points after the opening day in the 33-team competition.

Springfield's Steve Headley qualified with the fastest time in the prelims as he ran a 6.32 in the 55 meter dash.

The Pride's five points on the day came from its 4x200 relay of Mark Bruno, Tom Brognano, Matt Amendola, and Nickel Hay that finished fourth with a time of 1:32.01
