



Springfield, Mass. - February 1, 2013 - The Springfield College golf team had six student-athletes named to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference team on Friday.Springfield's six honorees were the most of any institution that competed for the NECC Golf Championship. Michael Adams, Max Lee, Michael Nowakowski, Scott Newman, Jordan Maynard, and Timothy Vollaro all met the qualifications to earn the accolade.
A total of 169 student-athletes from eight different sports were honored with the academic award. To be eligible for the NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must post a minimum grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standings.
This fall, the Pride captured the NECC Championship and will represent the league in the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships in the spring. The NCAA's will be played in Destin, Florida May 14-17, 2013 and will be hosted by Methodist University at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.
Joe Eadie enters his 19th season as the head men's golf coach at Springfield College in the fall of 2012. Eadie is the head golf professional at the Fenway Golf Range in nearby East Longmeadow, and is in the process of becoming a PGA Professional. Read more.
