Women's Tennis Rolls Past Wisconsin Lutheran, 8-1

Orlando, Fla. - March 13, 2012 - The Springfield College women's tennis team swept the doubles competition and never looked back as it rolled past Wisconsin Lutheran, 8-1, on Tuesday afternoon. The Pride added five wins in singles play as it improved to 2-1 during its Spring Break trip.

With the victory, Springfield is now 5-9 on the season.

In double play, Sam Carney and Vanessa Senecal won 8-5 at No. 1, while Jen Cleary and Siana Green grinded out a 9-7 win at No. 2. The tandem of Sydney Streimer and Amy Buttarazzi completed the sweep with a 8-4 victory at No. 3.

Senecal, Green, Streimer, Buttarazzi, and Ashley Duhaime all earned wins at No. 2 through No. 6 singles to seal the victory.
