Rein, Hoppmann, and Bradley Tabbed NEWMAC All-Conference Selections

Rein, Hoppmann, and Bradley Earn NEWMAC All-Conference Honors Babson Park, Mass. - November 10, 2009 - A trio of student athletes from the Springfield College field hockey team were honored for their play this season as they were named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference Team. Morgan Rein was named to the first team, while Julie Hoppmann and Meg Bradley picked up second team honors.

Rein had a breakout senior season as she moved to forward for the Pride. The Mystic, Conn. native finished the season with a team-best 36 points as she tied for the team-lead in goals with 11 and led the offense with 14 assists. She has recorded five game-winning goals as she served as co-captain. Rein also finished the year as the league leader in assists per game with .67.

Bradley earned her first all-conference accolade as she was a rock for the Pride in the midfield. Battling throughout injuries during the season, Bradley still started all 21 games for the Pride. Patrolling the field for SC, Bradley finished the season with six goals and 16 points. The Cumberland, R.I. product came through in the clutch in the NEWMAC Tournament when she scored with a minute left in regulation to send Springfield's semifinal game against Wellesley into overtime.

Hoppmann closed out her career with Springfield with her first all-conference nod as well. An anchor for the Pride on defense, Hoppmann started in all 21 games for SC, recording one assist in the process. Hailing from The Plains, Va., Hoppmann was a major reason why the Pride reached the NEWMAC Tournament Championship game for the sixth-straight season.
