



Springfield, Mass. -- March 17, 2012 -- The Springfield College "A" team won the New England Men's Gymnastics Invitational Championships this afternoon at SC's Blake Arena. The Pride scored 321.800 points, ahead of the second-place Daggets "A" at 300.700. Senior Ty Evans captured the all-around at 80.100 in his last competitive meet in Blake.Evans finished first in the parallel bars (14.400), second in the floor exercise (14.100), second in the high bar (13.600), and tied for fourth in the still rings (13.600).
Others from Springfield "A" winning events were sophomore Ryan Ponce (Tolland, Conn.) in the still rings (14.800), freshman Pat Ryther (Boston, Mass.) in the pommel horse (13.100), and junior Jimmy Pezzino (Buffalo, N.Y.) in the vault (14.400).
Partial teams participating today included Tumble Town Gymnastics, Ellis School of Gymnastics, Boston University Club Gymnastics, R&R Gymnastics, University of Southern Maine, and the Pride.
Final Score: Springfield "A" 321.800, Daggets "A" 300.700, Ellis 268.300, UVermont 180.400
