Indianapolis, Ind. - March 22, 2014 - Senior diver Jennifer Thompson (Cheshire, Conn.) concluded her outstanding career at Springfield College and the 400 free relay set a school record in the final night of the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday.
Thompson will go down as one of the finest divers to ever compete at Springfield College. In the championship finals of the three-meter board on Saturday night, Thompson posted a score of 485.95 to finish third nationally in the event.
Throughout her time at Springfield, Thompson earned seven All-America honors. Earlier this week, the senior placed fifth in the championship finals of the women's one-meter board with a score of 433.30.
Springfield's 400 free relay team completed the historic weekend by earning Honorable Mention All-America honors in the final event of the championships. The team of Callie Phillips (East Longmeadow, Mass.), Delaney Dyjak (Ludlow, Mass.), Nicole Scotto (Southbury, Conn.) and Pennington combined to swim a school record time of 3:27.79 as they finished 12th in the field.
As a team, Springfield finished 11th in the country with 121 points.
