Women’s Cross Country Finishes Seventh at Smith Invitational

Northampton, Mass. - September 7, 2013 – The Springfield College women’s cross country team finished seventh overall at the Smith College Invitational on Saturday.

Abby Wright (Pittsfield, Mass.) was the top finisher for the Pride, placing 41st in 21:19.74. Sarah Knop (Eastham, Mass.) and J'aime Giaccone (Enfield, Conn.) went back-to-back, placing 61st (21:41.47) and 62nd (21:44.01), respectively.

Emily Rund (Enfield, Conn.) finished 71st overall out of 204 runners with a time of 21:53.74 and Elizabeth Tomanio (West Haven, Conn.) placed 82nd in 22:10.82.

Amherst College finished first in the team standings.

Springfield will be back in action next week at the Ramapo Invitational in Woodland Park, N.J.
