



Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2007 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference consists of 10 highly selective institutions committed to academic excellence: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast Guard Academy, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
For Springfield College, on the men's cross country team, Jeff Bartlett (West Newbury, Mass.) and Michael Griffin (Scarborough, Maine) were each chosen as all-academic team members, while women's cross country team members Jessica Borsotti (Northampton, Mass.) and Amanda DiPaolo (Garrison, N.Y.) were also honored with the accolade.
From the women's tennis team, Sarah Russo (Amsterdam, N.Y. ) and Jessica Sousa (Falmouth, Mass.) were each honored for their excellence in the classroom.
Jim Pennington enters his 28th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2011-2012. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
