Eight Women's Gymnasts Earn Scholastic All-America Honors

Springfield College Women's Gymnastics at ECAC Championships Springfield, Mass. – August 26, 2013 – The Springfield College women’s gymnastics team was recently honored for its success in the classroom by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W).

The Pride finished with team grade-point average of 3.3130, which ranked 38th nationally out of the 67 schools listed by the NCAA.

Springfield had eight members of its team that earned Scholastic All-America status as a result of attaining a grade point average of 3.5 or better for the year. The contingent was led by Brittany Baglow, who earned a 3.90, and was followed by Rachel Mattison (3.83), Lauren Pocius (3.79), Rachel Rocks (3.66), Jacqueline Coombs (3.56), and both Brielle Albertini (3.51), Michelle Markel (3.51).

Southeast Missouri finished first nationally as a team with its 3.8146. The top five included Western Michigan (3.8086), followed by Utah (3.6920), TWU (3.6200), and Southern Utah (3.5960).
