Pancoast and Thompson Named NEWMAC Divers of the Week

and Jennifer Thompson
were recognized for their efforts in a dual-meet victory over NYU on Saturday as they were chosen as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Divers of the Week.
This marks the third time this season that Pancoast was honored with the weekly accolade, while Thompson picked up the honor for the sixth time this year.
Pancoast, who hails from Monroe, Conn. won the three-meter with national-qualifying score of 311.33. Later on the one-meter, the senior had the top score and added his second qualifying mark of the day with a 289.65.
On the women's side, Thompson posted a national qualifying score of 305.10 to claim first place on the three-meter board. The Cheshire, Conn. native earlier placed second on the one-meter with a 248.70.
The Pride will compete again on Saturday when it travels to Williams for a 1:00 pm dual meet.

Diving Coach Peter Avdoulos
Peter Avdoulos is regarded as one of the top diving coaches in the nation, and will enter his 29th season as the diving coach for both the men's and women's programs in 2013-2014. The current NEWMAC Women's and Men's Diving Coach of the Year, Avdoulos has coached countless All-New England and All-American divers, as well as several National Champions. Read more
