SPRINGFIELD, Mass., March 27, 2007 – Springfield College senior attack Rachel Lampros (Boxborough, Mass.) scored three goals and added two assists for the Pride, but it was the Panthers of Plymouth State University which edged SC, 13-12, this evening in non-conference women’s lacrosse action at Benedum Field.
Plymouth State senior attack Annie Pinault netted her game-best fourth goal of the contest with just 1:33 left in regulation to break a 12-all tie and vault the Panthers to their fourth win of the season. Plymouth State is now 4-1 on the year, as the Pride falls to 4-2 overall on the young season.
SC freshman midfielder Alexandra Bazzano (Newington, Conn.) had a very solid game for the Pride, scoring three goals. The Panthers quickly responded with four straight goals to end the half down just one (7-6). The second stanza was back-and-forth, and with 9:51 left in regulation, a Thomas score gave SC an 11-9 lead. Plymouth State scored four of the game’s final five goals, however, to edge out the Pride.
