Field Hockey Loses to Mount Holyoke in 1st Round of the NEWMAC Tournament
SOUTH HADLEY, Mass - Nov. 2, 2002- Despite 14 saves by Springfield College sophomore goaltender
Lindsay Pardue (Houston, Texas), third-seeded Mount Holyoke College defeated the sixth-seeded Pride, 3-0, in the first round of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Confence (NEWMAC) Field Hockey Championship.
The defending champion Lyons (16-3) jumped out to a 2-0 first half lead and never looked back to advance to the NEWMAC Tournament semifinals next Saturday (Nov. 9) at Wellesley College.
Springfield finishes its season with a 8-12 record.
