Headley Earns Third NEWMAC Track Athlete of the Week

Steve Headley Named NEWMAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week Springfield, Mass.-April 20, 2010- For already the third time this outdoor season, Steve Headley has been named the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men’s Track Athlete of the Week.

Headley led the charge for Springfield as they finished second out of eight teams in the Springfield Invitational, only to finish behind Westfield State.

The Wilbraham, Mass. native continued his dominance in the 100 meter dash as he took first with a time of 10.70 seconds. Headley was also a part of the 4x100 meter relay team that finished in second place with a time of 42.27 seconds.

Ken Klatka Ken Klatka, just inducted into the Springfield College Athletic Hall of Fame in October, 2011, enters his 37th season as head coach of the men’s track and field program in 2012-2013. He ranks among the nation’s most successful coaches, with an overall record of 442 wins, 144 losses, and two ties for an impressive .753 winning percentage.
