Snyder Breaks School Pole Vault Record
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., May 16, 2003-- Springfield College junior
Suzie Snyder (Averill Park, N.Y.) broke the school outdoor pole vault during the first day of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at MIT.
Snyder, who established the previous school outdoor record of 10 feet, 3/4 inches in 2001, finished 12th overall with a vault of 10 feet, 4 inches. Snyder also holds the school indoor record of 10 feet, 6 inches set in 2002.
Other notable performances from the first day of the meet included SC senior
Erin Pac (Farmington, Conn.), who held first place in the heptathlon with 2,629 points.
