Preseason All-America Recognitions Continue To Roll In For Nacewicz

Nacewicz Earns Preseason All-America Recognition Springfield, Mass. - August 6, 2013 - Coming off a record-setting year, junior Max Nacewicz has received plenty of early-season recognition for a variety of national sources who have deemed him a preseason All-American selection.

Several weeks ago, the Sandy Hook, Conn. native was chosen as one of three defensive ends on the Beyond Sports Network (BSN) All-America Third Team.

This week, Nacewicz was named to the 25th Annual USA College Football Division III Preseason All-American list, earning second-team honors as a linebacker and third-team honors as a defensive lineman. Additionally, Phil Steele's College Football Preview picked Nacewicz as one of nine defensive players on its Honorable Mention list.

An Applied Exercise Science major, Nacewicz had a dominant sophomore season, in which he started all 11 games on the defensive line. In addition to setting a pair of program records with 20.5 tackles-for-loss for 133 yards and 14.5 sacks for 114 yards, he finished the year tied for fifth in the country in sacks and 14th in tackles for loss.

He also forced and recovered a fumble and was Springfield's sixth-leading tackler, posting 49 overall stops, including 33 solo tackles.
