



West Point, N.Y. -- April 16, 2010 -- Ty Evans of Springfield College competed in the all-around at the NCAA Division I Men's Gymnastics Championships on Friday evening, finishing 19th with a score of 81.250. He was the first Springfield College competitor to qualify for Friday's round since Josh Chasse did so in 2002.The make-up of Evans' all-around score was as follows. He placed tied for 29th in the vault with a score of 15.500, tied for 31st in the parallel bars with a 13.800, 41st in the high bar with a 13.650, 42nd in the still rings with a 13.250, 45th in the pommel horse with an 11.400, and 46th in the floor exercise with a 13.650.
Chasse was the last Springfield College gymnast to make it this far -- the final round of the NCAA Division I National Men's Gymnastics Championships -- in 2002, doing so in the still rings. Chasse was the ECAC Champion in that event that year.
Entering his 32nd season as head men's gymnastics coach, Dr. Steve Posner is recognized as one of the most outstanding gymnastics coaches in the East. Posner led the Pride to another successful season in 2013 as he led five gymnasts to the NCAA Championships. Read more.
