



SPRINGFIELD, Mass., April 3, 2006 - Springfield College freshman forward Pat Cavanaugh (Wayland, Mass.) has been named this week’s Pilgrim Lacrosse League Co-Player of the Week, in an announcement made on Monday afternoon, April 3. Cavanaugh shares the weekly award with Western New England College (WNEC) senior forward Joe Cassani.
Cavanaugh, a native of Wayland, Mass., and graduate of Wayland High School, had a very impressive week for the 4-3 Pride. In SC’s thrilling 11-10 victory over Division III’s fourth-ranked team this past Wednesday night (March 29), Middlebury College, Cavanaugh shined for the Pride, netting a team-best four goals while assisting on another score in SC’s upset victory. In the Pride’s next game, a Pilgrim League opener at Clark University this past Saturday evening (April 1), the first-year added a goal and an assist in the 15-3 win.
On the season, Cavanaugh is second on the team in scoring with a total of 12 offensive points. The forward has registered nine goals and three assists in just seven games this year. SC will next host Wheaton College on Saturday afternoon, April 8, in a 3:00 p.m. Pilgrim League match-up.
