



Springfield, Mass. - January 11, 2010 - Sophomore Kaitlin Reilly was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Swimmer of the Week after guiding Springfield to a sweep of both Union and Hartwick in a tri-meet on Saturday afternoon.The reigning NEWMAC Rookie of the Year, Reilly won a pair of individual events and was a member of a winning relay for the Pride. Reilly edged out the competition in a time of 25.51 to take the 50 free crown, then later won the 100 free in 55.74. She also joined her teammates in victory in the 400 free relay as they swam a time of 3:44.71.
The Pride will now prepare for an important and busy weekend as it will swim three of the top teams in the region. On Saturday, Springfield will travel to the Big Apple to square off against NYU. The following day, SC will head home to host a tri-meet with Coast Guard and MIT, who is currently ranked sixth in the country.

Peter Avdoulos is regarded as one of the top diving coaches in the nation, and is entering his 28th season as the diving coach for both the men's and women's programs in 2012-2013.
