



Complete ResultsIthaca, N.Y. - December 2, 2011 - The Springfield College men's swimming and diving team competed in the opening day of the Ithaca Invitational on Friday evening. With nine teams competing throughout the weekend, the Pride is currently in third with 282.5 points.
Cornell University leads the competition with 510 points so far, followed by Hartwick College's 324 points.
Josh Ernst had a standout performance in the 200 IM as he touched in 1:58.62 to finish in third. Springfield's other top finisher on the day came in the three-meter diving competition as Kenny Pancoast finished in fourth with a national-qualifying score of 463.25.
In the 500 free Phillip Murphy placed eighth for Springfield with a time of 4:48.87, while Scott Mackstutis also finished in eighth in the 50 free after sprinting to a time of 21.69.

John Taffe enters his 24th season in 2012-2013 as the head coach of the men's and women's swimming teams at Springfield College. Under Taffe’s leadership, the Pride has returned to its status as one of the best collegiate swimming and diving programs in Division III. Read more.
Peter Avdoulos is regarded as one of the top diving coaches in the nation, and will enter his 28th season as the diving coach for both the men's and women's programs in 2012-2013.
