Baseball Falls To Amherst College, 6-4
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., May 6, 2003- Amherst College left fielder David Powers went 3-for-4 with three RBI this afternoon as the Lord Jeffs defeated Springfield College, 6-4 at Berry-Allen Field.

Todd Royce (Chester, N.H.) hurled an impressive six and two-thirds innings in the no decision, scattering eight hits and three earned runs. SC junior second baseman
Dan Samia (North Adams, Mass.) went 3-for-5 with a run scored from the leadoff position.
With the score tied 4-4 in the top of the ninth, the Lord Jeffs (19-10) struck for two runs. Powers singled to center field to drive in right fielder John Schneider. Third baseman Josh Santry then singled to center to drive in another run.
On Friday, May 9, the Pride will be playing in the first round of the 2003 ECAC Division III New England Baseball Championship against Johnson and Wales at 3:30 p.m. at Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass.
