



Springfield, Mass. - October 14, 2011 - The Springfield College field hockey team will once again participate in The Play 4 the Cure movement, which benefits the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research and awareness. The Pride will hold its breast cancer awareness day on Saturday when it takes on Wheaton at 11:00 am.As a team, Springfield will be selling t-shirts with the proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The Pride will wear pink shirts to warm up, pink socks during the game, use pink game balls, and wear pink bracelets.. Springfield College is requesting that fans wear pink apparel to this contest.
The Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research and awareness is the beneficiary of the Play 4 The Cure event.
After eight years as head coach of the Pride, Melissa Sharpe, has continued the SC tradition of winning on the field hockey turf, posting an impressive 120-58 record, good for a winning percentage of .674 at the helm of her alma mater. Read more.
