



Springfield, Mass. -- November 13, 2012 -- Scott Leech of the Springfield College football team has been named CoSIDA Academic All-District I as voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of America.A junior offensive lineman from Lincoln, R.I., Leech has recorded a 3.72 GPA to date while concentrating on his major of Applied Exercise Science.
In order to qualify for CoSIDA All-Academic status, one must be an upper classman and have a GPA of 3.30 or above.
Leech is part of an offensive line that is averaging 338 yards per game rushing, which ranks second nationally in Division III.
Springfield's record is 7-3 through the regular season. The Pride will be hosting Alfred this Saturday (Nov. 17) at 12 noon in the ECAC Division III Northeast Bowl game at Amos Alonzo Stagg Field.

Michael C. “Mike” DeLong ’74 enters his 32nd season as a head football coach in the fall of 2013. He enters his 30th year at Springfield College alone. For the past 28 years, he has been the head coach at Springfield, his alma mater. Mike had also been the head coach at Maine Maritime in Castine, Maine in 1979 and 1980. Read more.
