



JAFFREY, N.H., October 11, 2006 - Greg Levings (Averill Park, N.Y.) fired a 76 to gain medalist honors in leading the Springfield College golf team to an 18-stroke team victory at the Franklin Pierce Autumn Invitational today at the par-71 Shattuck Golf Club in Jaffrey, N.H.
As a team, Springfield finished first with a score of 329. Following in order were; Worcester State (347); Franklin Pierce “B” (359); Franklin Pierce “A” (361); MCLA (369); and Green Mountain (414).
Levings, a sophomore from Averill Park, N.Y., finished first with a 76 (39-37), one stroke ahead of his closest pursuer. Finishing third overall was sophomore Michael LaJoie (Enfield, Conn.) with a 78 (40-38).
Finishing in a tie for sixth was senior Bryan Chiravolo (Trumbull, Conn.) with an 83 (46-37). Finishing in a tie for 17th was Joe Powers with a 92 (46-46), and sophomore Bryan Anderson (Enfield, Conn.) shot a 97 (46-51) to place 21st.
Up next, Springfield College will play in the City Championships with AIC and WNEC at Veterans Golf Course next Tuesday afternoon, October 17th, in a 12:00 p.m. start.
Joe Eadie enters his 20th season as the head men's golf coach at Springfield College in the fall of 2012. Eadie is the head golf professional at the Fenway Golf Range in nearby East Longmeadow, and is in the process of becoming a PGA Professional.
