Kulcsar led the Springfield defense which held Fitchburg State to -68 yards rushing and 10 total yards overall. A defensive end from Haworth, N.J. made eight tackles, seven of which were unassisted, and recorded three sacks for a total loss of 25 yards. The lone Falcons’ score was on a defensive touchdown in the 55-7 Pride victory.
Carter finished with 259 yards of total offense playing one half and just one series in the second half in Springfield's win. The Marlborough, Mass. product rushed 10 times for 184 yards and two touchdowns and completed three of four passes for 75 yards and two scores. Carter tossed scoring passes of 25 and 21 yards to junior wide receiver Tim Brady.
Burrell returned the opening kickoff of the game 53 yards to set up the first Springfield touchdown to become the first Special Teams Player of the Week in Empire 8 history. Burrell, who hails from Warwick, R.I. totaled 56 yards on four punt returns, averaging 14 yards per return.
