Springfield, Mass. -- Sept. 3, 2011 --- Jessica Blind and Madison Buckley scored two goals each in leading the Brockport field hockey team to an 8-0 victory over Bay Path in a game played at Springfield College's Amos Alonzo Stagg Field.
Brockport will stick around to play Springfield College on Sunday at 1 pm at the same site.
Senior forward Jessica LoBue (Farmingville, N.Y.) got the Eagles off and running with a goal with 25 minutes left on the clock in the first half. She was assisted by Blind, a sophomore midfielder from Webster, N.Y. Brockport was destined to score three more times in the half.
The second goal was tallied by Blind, unassisted, with 11:03 left.
The third goal was scored by Buckley, a sophomore forward from Liverpool, N.Y. She was assisted by senior midfielder Kelly-Ann Henry (Glen Head, N.Y.), that goal coming with 2:49 left in the half.
And the fourth goal was scored just 21 seconds later, with 2:28 left, by Buckley once again, unassisted.
In the second half, it was all Brockport once again, duplicating its four-goal effort of the first half. The scoring began with freshman attacker Abby Eschen (Cazenovia, N.Y.), with an assist from LoBue with 21:28 left in the game.
With 26:40 left, it was Blind tallying, unassisted.
With 8:13 remaining, it was sophomore midfielder Emily Corpin's (Peterboro, N.Y.) turn to score, with junior defender Ashley Elmes (Hopewell Jct., N.Y.) providing the helper.
And, finally, with 1:54 to go, sophomore forward Danielle Henck (Sauquoit, N.Y.) scored the capper, with an assist from sophomore defender Kaitie Kaminski (Eden, N.Y.).
Amanda Del Buono, a senior from Sauquoit, N.Y., played in goal the first half. Junior Casey Schreiner (Hamburg, N.Y.) controlled the nets in the second half. But neither Brockport goaltender was forced to make a save.
For Bay Path, senior Samantha Berrios (New York, N.Y.) made six saves.
Brockport had 13 penalty corners to none for Bay Path.
